Environmental policy

At Bristol Books we have implemented the following policy to reduce our carbon footprint and lower our impact on the environment:

• We prioritise the use of FSC certified papers in the printing of our books and use soy-based inks, which are more environmentally friendly than those derived from mineral oils.

• We choose to print locally, within a 60 mile radius, for around 90% of our softback books to reduce transportation mileage. We occasionally source print, particularly hardback books outside the UK, but never print outside of Europe.

• Opting for shorter print runs enables us to better manage our stock levels and avoid potential wastage of unsold stock.

• Bristol Books staff do not operate from a fixed office and instead work remotely, keeping our carbon footprint very low.

• We even try to use pedal power to deliver books, attend meetings and visit suppliers when the sun is shining!
